Great catch on the use of the same cover image for this issue and Ace Sept. 1964. The publisher went by many company names including Four Star, MagTab, Gala, Frolic, Carnival, and others.
She did end up looking VERY different, didn't she? Not at all like this picture. But I assure you that this is her. I've always loved this picture. I scanned it from an old picture in Picture Scope magazine (March 1957). The picture is stunning (as I've said before, I'm a sucker for a nude in furs. Add a long cigarette holder and I am SOOOO there!), although it was folded in the magazine. It had a large crease down the center and the colors were off on one side compared to the other. It took a lot of work to make it all look as good as it does now.
I was very surprised to hear you say this was
Jocelyn Lane!
I didn't recognize her at all!
I have some old magazine photo's of her someplace in my old boxes of clippings.
I loved her in "Tickle Me".
You're right, waw5114! I had two issues, #4 and #6. I scanned one and you scanned the other. I got them confused. Sorry! It's corrected now and you're credited.
Ah, Pussycat! Abe Goodman's answer to Little Annie Fanny. she was drawn by a number of great comic book artists, including Wally Wood and Jim Mooney, who is best remembered for drawing Supergirl in the 60's.
I don't think these two Diamond Stud mags are the same series. I don't believe Comet and Classic are the same company. I have covers for later Comet Diamond Stud's up to v4 # 5 in 1964. All the Classic Pubs ones are from 1966 and later. There might even be 2 Classic series. I wouldn't link them.
I agree about the fonts. It's not even the font I wanted, but I had to do it quickly, while I had a couple of free minutes. Not even my best work, let alone someone else's. It was quick, down, and dirty. LOL
I think what you've got going looks pretty good except for the fact that the fonts don't look as solid or smooth around the edges as they might be. I always have a heck of a time with specialty fonts not working quite right except at large sizes that then don't look quite right when zapped down.
The reason she looks like Veronica Lodge is because the art is by Dan DeCarlo. DeCarlo was responsible for the Archie "house style" (the guideline that other artists followed to make the characters look consistent no matter who drew them). DeCarlo also created "Josie and the Pussycats". He was suing the Archie publisher at the time of his death over rights to Josie.
Thanks CS, I'm a huge fan of the girlie pulps and will be getting more up as I have the time. They mix fun fiction, jokes, naughty line drawings, and art deco photos and sport great pin-up covers. These magazines are just slightly naughty in a very sweet sort of way. Their scarcity and the fact that they were never included in library collections make them a priority candidate for preservation. The girlie pulps are most definitely a predecessor of the modern girlie mag, but they are also a unique form from a particular time. As I get more up, I'll probably get some article-type material going to go along, as these are absolutely my favorite magazines ever ;)

I understand, but I just don't like to say something is mine when it's someone else's work. Doesn't bug you, but it bothers the heck outta me. :)

I just wanted to point out I posted it.
I don't care if I get credit or not.

I Believe This is one I posted way back When.

Cool! Thanks for the info, CB. I'll try to link them all in the Publisher pages.
Duke is published by M.F. Enterprises Inc., which is another Myron Fass/Harris company name like Jaguar Publications.
Nice one, Darwin. Thanks!
OK I Re-Uploaded it with Page 50 also Page 50 was added below the Cover if you just want page 50.
I didn't notice this before, Looks like Page 50 is Gone.
I'll see if I can fix it.
I'll re-scan that page and re-upload it.
Oops! I just downloaded this and it gives me CRC errors when I try to unzip it.
We ALL do. Thanks, waw5114!
You're very much correct, Cyber Sleuth. They DON'T go together. Thanks for the info!
Short lived title which I don't believe is related to the 1970s version.

Wow! Very nice illustrations! I loved it!
Thanks! Loved the beatnik story.
Beautiful mag, waw5114. Thanks!

I'd like to see more of these. This is the only issue of
Jaguar that is in my collection.
Don;t think I have any others.
