Just a note that I've done a few things in the last day or so.
With my limited online time, that's the best I can do for now.
I just wanted to thank all of the magazine contributors. If I haven't added some comments to the front page about your newer magazines, please bear with me while I work through them.
thebigtc, I will probably post just one article about your Australian Cavalcade magazines when I get to them. Not because they're not appreciated (They are GREATLY appreciated!), but because the sheer number that you've uploaded have left me a bit speechless (not an easy task, amigo). I'm afraid that I would get even more redundant than I already am if I commented on every single issue.
They are a wonderful set of magazines and looking at them allows you to see how the magazine differs from American pin-up mags and how they have changed over the years. It's a fascinating read. Thank you!
Well, that's it for now. See you all on the pages.
Regards,
Eric

Sat 12/12/09 by Cyber SleuthEric, if this is you with limited online time, I'll never be able to keep up with you if you get more free time! I miss coming by for a couple of days and WOW, an explosion!
The Publishers field additions look good. I'll start adding info I have and if I come up with more suggestions for fields, I'll let you know.
One question with the "Magazine Pages" or "Magazines (Latest)" blocks you've set up for Modern Man and Adam. When I go to those, there seem to be more than one page of images for both, but I cannot click on past the first page. Don't know if its a software glitch or not. That is besides seeing double covers like you've mentioned before.
Thank YOU for providing a dynamic innovative place for us to explore mens magazines.
Thanks for the kind words,

Yeah, the Magazine Pages content type isn't finished yet. I'm still working out the bugs in it. When it's finished, it should show the magazine covers in a grid with info at the top like publisher, date of publications, number of issues, etc. I'm surprised that you're able to see it at all, but when it's finished you should have full access.
Thanks for this site, Eric.
Sat 12/12/09 by arun.yothinThanks for this site, Eric. Thanks to everyone who shares what they have as well. I've been busy with school and work so I haven't been checking everythign out lately, but all the new stuff loks great so far.
Cavalcade Mags
Fri 12/11/09 by thebigtcThanks Eric. No biggie. They had been scanned, just needed to upload them again. Still have 32 issues to go plus I've started on the Aussie ADAM mags as well. Not really nudie mags, more Men's fiction than naked gals although there is the odd bOObie on offer twixt the pages.

Fri 12/11/09 by darwinThanks, Eric. You are doing a fine job, and there is no way you can keep up with all the magazines being added at the moment, but you are still covering plenty of territory. I've been adding some older scans to the database and I see a couple of other scanners have been as well, so the new books are coming in a little fast these days. (Not to mention Waw puts something new up almost every day :) The site is blooming, and I think everything is going very well. There are so, so many of these magazines to scan and explore, I'm just ecstatic to have a place to post these scans where they are appreciated. At the places I post comics or magazine scans, it always feels a little bit funny to post a nudie magazine even though are every bit as worthy of investigation as any other type of magazine. It's great to have this site devoted entirely to the subject where I don't feel the need to be sheepish for posting naked girls ;)
Cheers,
Darwin

If you're interested in general magazine preservation, I've been working on a sister site to this one at vintagemags.net. It's just sitting there at the moment, but I've been thinking lately about taking what I've learned here and applying it there.
My main interest is in girlie mags, but my philosophy is the same with general magazines. More than books or even films, magazines are a reflection of their times. They're throw-away information that shouldn't BE thrown away. They should be preserved for future generations. I love magazines. I'd like to see all kinds preserved.
